Attention Ice Fishermen -

There is no "Public Access" to our pond.  Parking may be a problem during the derbies, but it doesn't have to be.  Ask permission from a local businessmen or homeowners.  The Sportsmen's Club Parking Lot will be open for all the Derbies, please park in designated areas only.  There is also parking available at Irish Wigwam and Greene Point Marina. Please park in "fishing parking only", if they are not open when you get there, please stop in when you get off the ice and give them your license plate number to pay your fee.  Louise Dillabough the owner of Eddie's Cove has asked that you do not park in her lot. (Lakeshore Drive from County Rt. 15 to Ontario Drive) She will be hosting some private derbies while The Great Sandy Pond Ice Derbies are going on.   Please respect "NO TRESPASSING" signs.

Please respect our pond.  Do not leave anything on the ice except your footprints.  Please take all garbage with you.  If you leave some fishing line on the ice it will be there in the spring to wrap around your prop or it could seriously injure our wildlife.  Please take all fish parts with you as well.  We do not have a dump station.

Please make sure the ice is safe where you access it.  Safety kits for the ice and other winter sports include a Rope, Cell Phone and flotation device.  Be safe, make sure the ice is safe.    Many fishermen use Motorola 2 way radios.  The channel we will be using is channel 3, Talk to your fellow fishermen about the ice conditions or weather conditions.  Please be safe, and have a great derby.

Thank You--
